The Appalachian Mountains is located in the very corner in NorthWest GA. This region is mostly covered in trees, such as oak trees. The soil there is clay based which isn't that great for agriculture. The rocks that are often found in the clay are limestone. The Appalachian Mountains has a fair number of wildlife. It includes deer, eagle, foxes, and spiders.
The Blue Ridge is located in the Northeast part of GA. The Blue Ridge has an amazing and beautiful wide range of plant life. In this region the plants include dwarf iris, cardinal flower, golden rod, hickory and oak trees. Also there wildlife has the basic animals such as the black bear, whitetail deer, raccoon, and songbirds. I find the thought of songbirds very interesting.
The Piedmont is located in the central part of GA. We actually live in this area. The capital of Georgia is Atlanta. Although the Piedmont ends at the fall line, it is actually pretty huge. The wildlife in this region includes animals such as bats, red foxes, moles, and wild turkeys. The Piedmont has plenty of wetlands which actually holds water from many rivers.
The Coastal Plain is located in the southern part of GA. It is divided into upper and lower plains. The upper region is mainly based on agriculture. While the lower region is the coastal part with the Atlantic Oceans and swamps. They have mostly the same wildlife as the blue ridge region but it also includes bobcats and opossums. They also have endangered species such as eastern indigo snakes, red cockaded woodpecker, and he flat woods salamander. In the coastal area they have Angel fish, alligator, and sea turtles.
